Three years ago, Fotis and Shelly Gazis sold their commercial millwork company, where Fotis had worked for 27 years. Shelly and their eldest son, Jack, had managed the administrative and accounting facet of the business for more than a decade. Located in Springfield, MA, they manufactured cabinets for dental and medical offices and hospitals. The Gazises had plans to sell, retire, and move from Connecticut to Greenville, SC. In the summer of 2020, less than a year after the sale, the move happened, and retirement came shortly afterward. For about a year and a half, the couple did some home renovations and enjoyed their favorite hobby, cycling, whenever they wanted. But retirement proved to be a little more mundane than they had expected. Soon enough, Fotis was itching to get back into projects. Having always loved working with his hands and working in some facet of construction his entire adult life, Fotis began to think about what his next business should be. Prior to purchasing his previous company, Fotis had built custom homes. Combining his residential building background and his
decades of commercial cabinet manufacturing, he decided to channel his past experiences with some new ideas and return to the residential field.

Being in the cabinet business for so many years, the Gazi's Connecticut home was furnished with custom storage cabinets in most of the rooms of the house and the garage, as well. Any time someone would visit for the first time, they were always amazed, and would comment how fortunate they (Fotis and Shelly) were to have such extensive storage. Those expressions inspired the new business name years before its conception, Storage Envy! Now, Fotis and Shelly, along with their 17-year-old son, Nikos, look forward to serving South Carolina to meet individual and unique storage needs.
